From the Mountains to the Prairie.

We have landed at our good friend Murray’s house in the Teton Valley. Now to say the view here is breathtaking is to say Einstein was kind of smart!

There are places in this world that you look at then wonder and imagine how it would have been to watch them transform. Now forrest fire smoke still covers the peaks but I can assure you that even in a rainy day it is spectacular here.

We have been using his home as a base camp for our wandering. Now we have not slowed down on moving just because the camper is not.

We traveled to West Yellowstone our first full day here and visited the historic town that is the landmark for National Parks in the United States. We traveled 3 states in one day. Idaho, Montana and Wyoming (missed the sign).

Far from the town it used to be but is still the gateway to Yellowstone.

We poked our heads into the park and were greeted by the great Maddison river.

We only had a few hours before we wanted to head back but got to take in a few geysers and geothermal features on the road to old faithful.

Everyone came out smelling of rotten eggs and Shawnda even got sprayed.

The small bit of the park we did see let’s you know why this area is protected and is a jewel of the country. We will be returning later this week.

The following day we set out early 0530 to meet our rafting company in Jackson,WY for a float down the Snake river. This was one of Addys birthday presents. The river we traversed was both beautiful and relaxing.

I was disappointed to find out from our guide that the land that borders the river is now mostly privately owned and you are not aloud to stop on the banks of the river due to this. As well by WY law the land owner actually owns the half of the river bottom there property borders. Hmm
