Back on the road after a week of working and visiting at our house in Klamath.
We said goodbye to Great Grandma.

Actually she’s now a Great Great Grandma, since John and I are grandparents to this cutie (long story that we can get into later).

We made our way North East towards a town called Burns. I do not recall having ever gone this far into the mountains east of Klamath Falls, and the scenery was pretty amazing even with the residual smoke.

There are numerous high mountain lakes along the way which have the most interesting beaches of white sand or rock.

We stopped along the way so the kids could explore their first real desert terrain.

There were a few other areas just like this along the route, where at one point a lake of some sort resided. Addy even found a crossbow arrow in the rubble.
You know when your kids say “Mom, we need to stop more.” And they agree with you when you say “why? To get out and explore?”, you are starting to do the right thing!
