8-31 after getting settled at our campsite (at Outlaw RV Park) we headed to the pits to do a few rounds of horseshoes. Addy and John came out victorious over Alex and I in both games.
9-1 we ventured into Dinosaur National Monument to hang out with really old dead things!
The geological formations in this area are magnificent! Even the kids thought so.
The dinosaur excavation exhibit was so neat! It’s amazing that they have barely scratched the surface on actually digging in this area, and haven’t actively excavated since the 80’s.
After we left the exhibit, Alex and I took to the trail while Addy and John took the tram to the Visitors Center.
On the hike we saw sea bed fossils, petroglyphs and a little lizard. But of course my phone died in the extreme heat, so I only got a few photos.
After we left dinosaur we had to do a quick run to town to cash in the kids winnings from beating me at Black Jack a few nights prior! Between Horseshoes and Black Jack I’m pretty sure I’d suck in Vegas right now, but I’m ok with how the rest of my lucks going… fun with kids, seeing new sights.
