We’ve been in the camper for about 10 days and there is still a lot of work to do. This morning I managed to unpack our one set of dishes. I found this really nice tree design by Corelle that I figure might actually make it out of Alaska in one piece. Figured I would see how it went before buying any more.
The design really made me think of nature and the purpose of this trip. We will see if my nonskid idea works to keep them from clanking together as we drive down the road.
We also got Addy’s hammock put up in the trees just outside the camper. Apparently I didn’t do a very good job checking the knots that were already tied in the lines, because not 15 minutes into her horsing around, it fell out of the tree. She’s pretty happy now however, pretending she can’t touch the ground which means everything she wants she gets someone else to get for her.
We are currently living at the local KOA until the end of the month while I finish out my job here. It’s been great to come home at night and go for a walk down to the river with the kids and dog.
It’s also nice that John gets to be home with the kids, and it is allowing us some time to find new ways to store all the extra stuff we haven’t decided to toss just yet. I think we will be throwing stuff out, or donating items at each stop.
though we both spend our fair share of time on Facebook, blogging is completely new to both John and I. So please understand if our posts are not fancy or if we do not post regularly, as we are still figuring it out. A lot of “firsts” ahead!
Until next time… S
